Introducing our NEW bolognese sauce recipe!
It starts with a classic Italian soffritto... onion, carrot and celery gently sautéed in quality Australian extra virgin olive oil. Next we add lean, ground Aussie beef and cook it until it's golden. Then comes premium Italian chopped tomatoes and a little tomato paste. Finally, we season it with lots of yummy Italian flavours, including rosemary from our garden. Then we let all those flavours combine as we cook it to perfection. The result is a delicious and beautifully textured sauce. And like all Maria's sauces, it contains all natural ingredients, with no added sugar.
Our sauces are made fresh with no added preservatives. We will always provide the best use by date available, however to extend the storage life you can freeze it at home and keep for up to 6 months.
You can request frozen versions of all our products. These are snap frozen in a commercial deep freeze and generally have a longer shelf life.
Bolognese Sauce Pasta, also known as Spaghetti Bolognese, is a classic Italian dish featuring a savory meat sauce served over cooked pasta. The Bolognese sauce is a rich and hearty combination of ground meat (commonly beef or a mix of beef and pork), tomatoes, onions, carrots, celery, garlic, and a variety of herbs. The sauce is simmered to allow the flavors to meld and create a satisfying, robust taste. It is commonly served over spaghetti or other pasta varieties and is often garnished with grated Parmesan or Pecorino cheese.
